WHY WON'T
MY
Solder FLOW

START HERE - GET THE FREE GUIDE

FOR HOME BASED JEWELLERS WITH HANDHELD TORCHES

You've followed the advice. Cleaned the metal.  Checked the join.  Applied the flux. Heated evenly.... and it still doesn't flow consistently.

You're not missing something obvious.  You're missing the one skill nobody actually teaches.

I don't teach the checklist.
I teach you to read the
heat.

Clean metal, flush join, correct flux, heat evenly. Every tutorial says the same thing. Every Facebook group gives the same advice. And it's all correct.

But here's what none of it can show you.

It can't show you that what looks like clean metal to the naked eye has fingerprints on it from where you touched it applying the flux.

It can't show you that what looks like a flush join has a gap you'd only see if you took a photo and zoomed in.

It can't tell you what the flux is communicating in real time, or what the metal colour is telling you, or why the solder is running away from the join instead of into it.

Those are signals. They're happening at your bench every single time you solder. Once you know how to read them, everything changes — and it doesn't have to take years.

THE BIT NO ONE TALKS ABOUT

READ   |   IDENTIFY   |   FIX   |   OWN

01

Read the signals

Flux behaviour, solder movement, metal colour — they're telling you exactly what's happening in real time.

02

 Identify the cause

Heat, fit, cleanliness, flux, solder — which of the five conditions is failing?

03

Apply the fix

A targeted correction for your specific problem. Not generic advice. Not guesswork.

04

Own the skill

Next time, you diagnose it yourself. No tutorials. No guessing. No months of trial and error.

The advice in the groups is right. It's just not the whole picture.

That's the skill the advice leaves out. Not because it's wrong — but because it's the one thing that's almost impossible to teach through a checklist. You have to learn to see it.

THE SHIFT  THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

It's not your technique.

It's the diagnosis.

01

You're not bad at soldering

You've never been taught to read what you're looking at. That's a completely different problem.

02

Tutorials teach steps

They can't teach you to read your specific heat, your specific torch, your specific bench setup.

03

Diagnosis is a skill

Once you have it, you never need to guess again. Every problem becomes solvable — including ones you haven't hit yet.

04

This is what I teach

Not a longer checklist. Not more techniques. The ability to look at your bench and know exactly what's going wrong.

I spent years going in circles. Then I figured out what I was actually missing.

HI I'M LINDA

I know exactly what it feels like to follow every instruction correctly and still fail. To go back to the tutorials and find the same advice. To try the forums and get the same answers.

What nobody told me — and what I eventually figured out — was that the thing making it work wasn't in the instructions at all. It was the ability to read what was happening in real time. Once I learned that, everything changed.

That's what I teach. Not a longer checklist. The diagnostic skill that makes soldering consistent — at your bench, with your tools, in your conditions.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY

"The bench used to feel like the problem. Now it's the best part of my day."

"It has stopped being a matter of good luck now. I actually understand what I'm looking at when I'm at the bench."

ANNETTE H

"Linda started what was happening straight away — something I never would have figured out on my own after months of struggling."

HAYLEY W.

"What I thought I knew about the pieces really means you consider things differently to what it actually requires."
